Why Probio Solution?

"Everything we tried left us wanting... None of the products available could get the soil to respond."

We created Probio Solution® because, after over a decade of consulting with growers and meeting with farmers, advising them on fertility practices, soil amendments, and the uses of humic acid, compost, manures, and crop rotation, we were always left wanting. None of the products available got the soil to respond to a degree that justified their cost.

We wanted to create a product that met four criteria. The product had to contain:

  • Active, live biological organisms that would positively affect aeration, mineralization, digestion, and breakdown of naturally occurring matter in the soil.
  • Increase the availability of organic carbon, organic acids, humic acids, and amino acids to bond to nutrients.
  • Selected Bacillus bacteria to enhance nutrient mineralization and act in Rhizosphere mineralization or micronutrients for the plants.
  • Highly available micronutrients for both soil and foliar applications.

Probio Solution meets these criteria and more. It helps to build soil structure and fertility, increasing your profitability.

What is Probio Solution?

Because of its superior natural, biological nature, when used properly, Probio Solution increases the effectiveness of chemicals and fertilizers while reducing irrigation costs and increasing yields.

Chemicals and some fertilizers inhibit natural soil biology. Probio Solution enhances it.

Unfortunately, chemicals and fertilizers, while providing needed nutrients elements to the plant, slowly inhibit the action of the natural biological organisms, including the bacteria and enzymes required to sustain yields. The death of the natural soil becomes more and more evident over time as the amount of chemicals and fertilizers you must apply increases (while your associated costs also rise).

Probio Solution not only inoculates the soils and plants feeder root rhizosphere with mineralizing bacteria, but increases the ability and efficiency of the soil to use the chemicals, fertilizers, and water applied.

Probio Solution is a product of aerobic bio-augmentation. Through a proprietary air-lift system, we add peptones, proteins, complex carbons from sugars, plant extracts, minerals and ores, selected Bacillus bacteria, yeast, and enzymes. These are blended and bio-reacted. Once the reaction process is complete—the bio-brew becomes Probio Solution.

Probio Solution is not only a soil inoculant, amendment and stubble digester, but it is also a delivery system for bacteria, fertilizers and chemicals. Probio Solution enables dealers and growers to create their own celation system and increase the efficiency of the chemicals and fertilizers they apply.

What Makes Probio Solution Unique?

A unique, complex, combination of nutrients and minerals are added.

Probio Solution inoculates the soil with natural biological enzymes and bacteria. It enhances the conversion of crop residue, compost, manure, and organic matter into usable available nutritional elements. It improves mineralization of the fertilizers, increasing the soil's ability to sustain a crop. Probio Solution enhances soil structure, aeration, flocculation, and water penetration and retention.

Unlike other bio- and bacteria-based products on the market, Probio Solution not only increases the efficiency of fertilizers, foliars, herbicides, fungicides, and pesticides but acts as a delivery system for specific families of Bacillus bacteria. All of these improve our agricultural and cultural practices and increase the productivity of our soils and farming systems.

Collodial Bonding is One of its Secrets

One of the secrets of Probio Solution we'll give away is the nutrients bond to the natural carbons, proteins, amino and organic and humic acids created in the complex. And because of Probio Solution's bio-augmentation process, when it is applied to our soils (or with fertilizers, foliars, herbicides, fungicides, and pesticides), the plants can begin to immediately utilize the available elements. One of the advantages of Probio Solution is that when its basic carbon elements and organic acids are blended with most fertilizer, herbicides, pesticides, or fungicides, it actually increases their effectiveness. (Probio Solution is not compatible with some products. Check with your dealer first.)

You can apply Probio Solution any way you want: drip or furrow irrigation, foliar feed, side dress, or ground preparation used along with fungicides, herbicides, pesticides, or blended with fertilizers. Probio Solution stays in the soil longer than chemical fertilizers.

The rate at which soils break down the organic matter and mineralize nutrients before making them available to the plant depends on the soil type, compaction, pH, and other soil conditions. Due to the condition of our soils, many chemicals and fertilizers are not taken up and used by plants, but instead leach out of the soil or bond to other soil elements. Because of the special types of carbon, organic, humic and amino acids, enzymes, and bacteria present in Probio Solution, fertilizers, foliars, herbicides, fungicides, and pesticides bond to these instead. Probio Solution's unique elements and active biosystem increase the effectiveness of the fertilizers, foliars, and chemicals we use in agriculture.

Probio Solution is Versatile

Because of our unique bio-augmentation process, you can apply Probio Solution any way you want: drip or furrow irrigation, foliar feed, side dress, or ground preparation used along with fungicides, herbicides, pesticides, or blended with fertilizers.

With other bio- and bacteria-based products you tend to find limitations in the way they can be applied. We have eliminated many of these restrictions, though we still recommend that you test Probio Solution's compatibility with any produce before you apply it to your fields.

Field Results

The Probio Solution system has been effectively applied to a wide variety of crops in North and South America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and the Pacific Islands.

Broom grass seed yield increased 120%

Pima cotton water use dropped 27%; nitrogen units dropped 129%; yields increased 38%

Seed bed cracking is reduced and seed germination rates rise

Here are some of the results a few farmers have obtained.

Broom Grass Seed

In San Joaquin, California, a farmer growing Broom grass seed had averaged 800 lb/acre/year over 20 years. He had never produced over 1000 lbs/acre in any year. With two foliar applications immediately followed by sprinkler irrigation using the Probio Solution system at 20 gal/acre, yields increased to 2200 lb/acre/year over the entire planting. At $1.50/lb, the farmer realized on an $30/acre investment an average increased gross profit of $2100/acre.

Pima cotton

This farmer split a 120 acre field for this study. We started after the phosphate and potassium had been applied and applied 10 gal/acre Probio Solution in the seed bed at planting. He side dressed the crop with 10 gal/acre Probio Solution blended with 10 gal/acre UN32 and 8 gal/acre 10-34-0. The test field was sprinkler irrigated with 2 gal/acre Probio Solution and 3 gal/acre UN32 every 10_20 days as indicated by tissue analysis.

When the crop was harvested, the yield increased from 2.1 to 2.9 bales/acre, or 38%. The cotton graded out with one of the highest lint counts in the area: 3.0, versus an average of 2.5. Also note the differences in water and nitrogen used:

After the harvest, a soil study measured the amount of nitrogen in the soil. The untreated control field had 67% more available nitrogen at the 36" depth when compared to the treated field. In contrast the treated field had 22% more available nitrogen in the top 18" of soil. In other words, the farmer applied less nitrogen to his field treated with Probio Solution and lost substantially less to leaching.

Potatoes

One grower we worked with split a pivot. He first treated a field of wheat stubble in the fall with 10 gal/acre Probio Solution. He disced the field and allowed it to rest. At plant emergence, he applied Probio Solution through irrigation at 10 gal/acre. The final application at hooking stage, as the new potatoes began to set, was also 10 gal/acre. At harvest, the yield of the treated field increased by 25%. The percentage of Grade A potatoes rose to 81% from 53%, and specific gravity rose to 1.091% from 1.083%.

Another grower tested three different company's bio-programs. Probio Solution was compared to a major Northwestern fertilizer company (Company A) and a major national fertilizer company (Company B).

Sugar Beets

A grower in Idaho had planted potatoes followed by Sugar Beets where he had applied Matrix®. The damage from Matrix was very visible on the first of June. We treated half of the pivot using irrigation, applying 10 gal/acre Probio Solution with 8 gal/acre 10-34-0, and liquid potassium. The total cost to the grower was $23/acre.

When the sugar beets were harvested, two truckloads each of the control and treated beet fields were independently tested. The treated field truck load weighed on average 51,000 lbs., up from 49,000 lbs. The sugar content rose 2%, and yields were increased by over 4 tons/acre, representing a $273/acre improvement—for a $23/acre investment.

Celery

One grower we worked with had been unable to grow celery on one part of his farm. Working with agricultural experts, we divided a field into thirds. The first third was treated with 600 units Nitrogen (the university recommendation), the second third with 283 units Nitrogen, and the last third was not treated.

At harvest, the first and third fields had an equivalent yield. The second field, treated with less than half the recommended amount of Nitrogen outperformed them both. Irrigation of the second field was measured and it was found the second field also required half the water of the other two fields. The universal response? "This is unheard of."

Fresh Market Tomatoes

Using drip irrigation over two years, we applied 20 gal/acre Probio Solution. One pick yields increased to an average of 50 tons/acre from 43 tons/acre.

Almonds

In the first year of a new planting, we increased growth by 50-60%. Working with the same grower for six years, he was able to eliminate alternate baring seasons and increase yield by 20-35%.

Grapes

Mature vines in Salinas Valley, California, were treated with Probio Solution. Prior to treatment the vines were producing 2-2.5 tons/acre. After just three years of treatment, yields increased to over 5.5 tons/acre.

On new plantings, Probio Solution increased germination to 99% from 89%, producing two years of growth in the first year. On nonproductive vines that could not produce a cane 10-12" long or hold its leaves through June, by applying Probio Solution they were back into full production in 3½ years.

Onions

In Saudi Arabia, onion fields treated with Probio Solution over three years rose from 23 ton/hectare to 72 tons/hectare. Seed production increased by 252%.

Cucumbers

In a tunnel farm system used in Saudi Arabia, we applied Probio Solution in a drip irrigation system. Cucumber crop yields increased by 350%.

Parsley

In the King City area of California, the grower we worked with usually obtained three or four fresh market harvests each year. The first year we applied Probio Solution, he cut 10 fresh market harvests before going to .

Probio Solution Makes a Difference

As we have shown, applying Probio Solution makes a dramatic and immediate difference.

Probio Solution:

  • Provides minerals and nutrients that stay in the soil longer
  • Enhances the natural biological processes of the soil
  • Enhances water use and fertilizer and chemical efficiency

Because of mineralization that takes place in the root systems of our crops, nutrients are more available to the plants. You save because not only are you spending less on water, fertilizer, and the resources required to apply them, but because your sustainable yields actually increase.

Probio Solution Increases Yields

How can you tell if Probio Solution actually works? Here are some obvious and some more subtle things you can look for in your fields:

  • The soil's ability to retain water and water penetration in compacted, dense soils.
  • The size of the drip bowl increases.
  • Crop yield increases.
  • Your crops use less chemical fertilizer to produce the same yield.
  • Seed bed environment enhanced.
  • Seed germination rates rise.
  • Root development increases.
  • Rhizosphere development is enhanced.
  • Plants treated with Probio Solution as a foliar dressing show a significant increase in the nutrient analysis of plant tissue.
