Replacing a Report Filter

You can replace a filter with a new permanent filter or you can substitute a temporary filter at the time you run the report.

To permanently replace a filter:

  1. If the filter objects are not visible, select View, Filters. The ILux client main window is subdivided vertically into two windows; the Filters window appears on the right.
  2. Select a Report folder . Click on the folder node to open the folder.
  3. Select a Report. Click on the report node to open the report.
  4. Select a filter and click Add to Report. The new filter replaces the previous filter attached to the folder and report.

To temporarily replace a filter:

  1. Select the folder and/or report you want to run.
  2. Click Run. the Run Report dialog box appears.
  3. Click Create Temporary. The Create Temporary Filters dialog box appears. It is automatically given a temporary name.
  4. Define the new filter date, users, sites, and accesses. Click OK.

    Note The filter is not retained after the report is completed.

    The Run Report dialog box reappears. Complete any other fields desired. Click Run Report.

You can also override an existing filter in the same manner using the Tools, Schedules, Create and Tools, Schedules, Modify commands, as well as the View, Alerts commands. These also allow you to specify filters for reports.
