Creating A New Group

Groups are useful for building custom filters. For example, you can create a group that contains only the IP addresses of your competition, or a group of specific countries.

To create a new group:

  1. Select Tools, Groups, Create. The Create Group dialog box appears.
  2. Enter a group name.
  3. Select a group type.
  4. Select a group member from the ILux database using the Filter. Enter a partial value in the Filter field, for example, web. Wildcards are accepted. ILux by default searches for any string that begins with the characters you enter. Click Show to list matching entries found in the ILux database.
  5. Use the Specify field if the value you want is not yet present in the database. Enter the value you want to include in your group in the Specify field. This should be a Domain, Domain Type, or Host.
  6. Choose the members of the group type that you want to add to the new group. You can select more than one group member at a time. Click on each member in turn using your mouse
  7. If you want to add a customized group member, enter the name in the Specify Member field.
  8. Click the Add to Group button. The group members are displayed in the Group Members list box on the right.

Click OK.
